The butterfly guard is a tricky spot for the top player. You must make sure you have a strong base and heavy hips in order to smash through your opponent’s sweeps. This pass forces you opponent to an inferior half guard before driving through to side control. A signature guard pass at my Poughkeepsie BJJ academy.
