Poughkeepsie BJJ coach Brian McLaughlin shows how to transition from the mount to the back utilizing the gift wrap position. The gift wrap, originally popularized by Rickson Gracie, is an excellent control position for both sport grappling and mixed martial arts. McLaughlin credits his coach coach and fellow BJJ Black Belt Rob Kahn with originally teaching him the outstanding transition.
Brian McLaughlin is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has been grappling for over 13 years. He's amassed an array of medals, including the Pan Ams, ADCC North American Trials, Grapplers Quest Pro Divisions, and NAGA World Championships, but now spends most of his time teaching at his gym, Precision Mixed Martial Arts and coaching MMA fighters.
