Bret Perchaluk shows us the Hari O Goshi Judo Throw. Bret is a judo black belt and a BJJ brown belt, with an admirable competition record, including medaling at the 2012 IBJJF No-Gi Pan Ams in the Brown Belt division.
Judo would eventually become an Olympic sport. Judo began to spread and become a truly global sport. Countries as diverse as Cuba, Brazil, Russia and America all compete at a high level on the international stage. The sport has become a world wide phenomena.
The throws and submissions that are in the arsenal of any Judoka are numerous and dangerous to any opponent. Judo can be a real asset to competitors in both submission grappling and in mixed martial arts. While Judo is practiced in a Gi, it can be used to great effect in no gi competitions and many high level MMA fighters boast Judo Blackbelts.
“Judo teaches us to look for the best possible course of action, whatever the individual circumstances, and helps us to understand that worry is a waste of energy.” -Jigoro Kano
