Yanni started his martial arts training at the age of 8 in the art of Tae Kwon Do under his instructor George Sernack. As an avid student of the martial arts, he has continued to expand his training to include other arts such as Muay Thai Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.<\/p>\n<p>Through his training he has earned a\u00a0<strong>4th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do<\/strong>\u00a0from his instructor\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rwmma.com\/\">George Sernack<\/a>\u00a0as well as a<strong>\u00a0Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amafightclub.com\/\">Jamie Cruz<\/a>\u00a0(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.renzogracie.com\/\">Renzo Gracie<\/a>\u00a0Black Belt).<\/p>\n<p>At the age of 16, Yanni started assisting in classes and found his gift for teaching. By the time he was 18 he started teaching full classes and really started to hone his craft.<\/p>\n<p>As a competitor, he has competed with much success in both Tae Kwon Do and Submission Grappling competitions. In addition, his students have found some successes in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu\/Submission Grappling comepetitions, as well as Amateur Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competitions.<\/p>\n<p>You can see Yanni on the mats on a daily basis helping students of all ages achieve their goals through martial arts training.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ioannis (Yanni) Hronakis is the head instructor of Up Top Martial Arts Academy.
